Long Hiatus

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. Its partly because my camera is dead, but mostly because I don't have my internet set up at the apartment yet.

Speaking of apartments I can't wait to show you guys my room! Its nowhere near done, but its turning into this dark hippie rocker beachy chic haven for all things that I love. My closets still need to be organized according to color and style and I still need to get some more frames, and mirrors (I have this really cool idea for one of my walls), but overall I'm really liking it.

I actually really like the color of my room too! It seems as though whoever lived there before me painted the bedroom this tan color and the bathroom a seafoam green, and the apartment liked it so much they didn't want to change it. I'm cool with it too though.

Oh yeah! I found my camera charger so I can use my DSLR soon and have outfit posts along with everyday posts of what I do on campus once school starts!

Party All The Time

The party was really fun. It was nice to see my friends, whom I've realized, I love a lot. We're all such characters and even though we're completely different, we're still really accepting of each other.

I decided on my outfit with the help of Jamie, Sofi and Erin, three of my good girlfriends. Black was better, as always.

My buddy of the night was Natalie, pictured with me below, we both had a huge amount of fun laughing together about ridiculousness.

Eternal.Sacred.Light: An Introduction

So I finally decided to do it. In attempt to leave behind the fear that so often sidelines my creative thoughts, I have decided to do something I've been wanting to do for the last six months. In starting this blog I want to have an outlet for all the things that I love and love to talk about, and now is the perfect time to start as I am looking at my life with a whole new perspective.


So first things first, who am I? I'm Bri, a 20-year-old college student about to start her third year at the infamous University of Florida. If you don't know who the Gator's are you either live under a rock which has no television, or have no interest in sports or partying. But, no worries, you'll learn about this place soon enough, as I'm bound to have some posts about the campus I love and sometimes love to hate. I'm majoring in English and I eventually want to maybe be a writer, or a fashion designer/stylist of some sort. Sometimes I even think about writing screenplay's or novels, but if that doesn't work out I could always do puff pieces about the current fashion trends popping up in society.

While telling you about where I go to school and what I'm majoring is interesting, I don't think it really tells you who I am, and the truth is, I'm figuring out what defines me just like you are. But here are a couple of things I know I am:

I'm a girl who loves her hair, but cut it all off: a chick who believes in the modern-day woman, but still expects a guy to open the door for her: a femme who loves getting dressed up but will lounge around in her pj's for days. I'm the girl who plays movies on repeat, constantly trying to find things that I didn't see before. I have spurts of unabashed happiness, but bouts of depression, too. I'm the girl who is a walking contradiction but never contradicts herself. Someone who hates the hypocritical and is able to pick out her flaws easily. I a girl who has something to say.


So here it is. My blog, whose name comes partly from a Paul Simon song and partly from my southern love of sweet tea, will be amazing. I'll be writing about fashion, music, movies, art, food, and my not-so-crazy life in general. You'll meet my friends, see my apartment, and get a look into my closet. You'll learn what my favorite movies are and what songs I can listen to on repeat while cooking in my kitchen: you'll learn about me, as I learn about myself.
