Coveted Cover

Everyone knows I love Drake so there should be no surprise that this cover is what I would call amazing.

Long Hiatus

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. Its partly because my camera is dead, but mostly because I don't have my internet set up at the apartment yet.

Speaking of apartments I can't wait to show you guys my room! Its nowhere near done, but its turning into this dark hippie rocker beachy chic haven for all things that I love. My closets still need to be organized according to color and style and I still need to get some more frames, and mirrors (I have this really cool idea for one of my walls), but overall I'm really liking it.

I actually really like the color of my room too! It seems as though whoever lived there before me painted the bedroom this tan color and the bathroom a seafoam green, and the apartment liked it so much they didn't want to change it. I'm cool with it too though.

Oh yeah! I found my camera charger so I can use my DSLR soon and have outfit posts along with everyday posts of what I do on campus once school starts!

I'm so excited (Jessie Spano style).

Sacred Style: Mick Jagger

The Rolling Stones are obviously rock'n'roll gods, but I think some fail to realize how iconic their sense of fashion was, too. I've decided to focus my lust on the wardrobe that belongs to Mick Jagger. I think its appropriate seeing as how Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera have been praising his dance skills in their new music video "Moves like Jagger." So step aside Bianca (you're a whole other post), its Mick's turn to be in the fashion spotlight.

Mick's style has always been appropriate for what ever occasion that arises. I would've loved to hang out with him and Andy Warhol during the Factory days.

Mick was picking up on trends decades in advance. This tophat is perfect as Stars n Stripes are currently trending in the fashion world.

Classic and crisp separates are just as showstopping as wild and crazy prints.

Jagger loved a good striped shirt and this outfit is no exception. I love the heavy collar of the suit jacket as well.

Here is the trademark stripe again. I love the nautical theme going on especially with the white pant.

I've always loved this photo as it seems as though Bianca and Mick are simply, happy. I've always loved Bianca's outfit, especially the deep v and the veil, but Micks suit paired with the paisley dress shirt is A-MAZING.

I imagine that this jumper is mint green paired with a nude dress shirt. In actuality its probably just as amazing as I picture.

I love the nonchalant construction of the tie and the feeling that Mick might be borrowing this jacket from someone else. Its so easy-going and cool. Jerry Hall's eyes are pretty in this photo, too.

I desperately need one of these shirts in my closet. The oversized feeling is perfect and I, yet again, imagine that this shirt is a crisp white silk. Plus, there's no denying the fierceness of Mick's hair.

Now here, enjoy Adam Levine's new music video:

Shades of Red

Lately I've been really into hair color. I'm back to my natural hue of darkest brown (jet black in the summer, I know confusing), but I've really been loving girls with a red tint to their strands. Red hair is really beautiful on women, and I've been known to crush on some ginger men in my day as well. Here are a few celebrities whose hair I would kill for, not to mention their face and general sense of style.

Florence Welch varies her shades of red, but this one is my favorite.

I loved when she had her natural blonde color for the six month span while filming Spiderman, but I will always love Emma more as a redhead. I'm especially loving this strawberry color she's rocking while transitioning back.

I've been obsessed with Mad Men as its now available on streaming Netflix. Christina Hendricks' red hair is so beautiful, especially on the show when she has it in updo's surrounded by pin curls. But get this, she's a natural blonde.

Adele's auburn locks with subtle blonde highlights are gorgeous. She loves a good 60's style updo too, especially when performing and, yet again, she's naturally super blonde.

Alas! A natural born ginger! Julianne Moore's hair is gorgeous and deep auburn. I can't wait to see her Crazy Stupid Love with Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, and fellow red head, Emma Stone.

Sacred Style: Regine Chassagne

As I have recently regained my obsession with Arcade Fire's grammy awardwinning album, The Suburbs, I have also been obsessed with their live performances all of which include Regine Chassagne wearing these amazing gold sparkly getups paired with matching sequined fingerless gloves. I think I'm in love.

While I know I couldn't pull it off, Chassagne manages to look adorable and retro while frilling around in her 70's inspired disco dresses. Her French-Canadian hipster chic attitude doesn't hurt her style either and I'm completely obsessed with her curly hair, tie up cream-colored booties and classic makeup as well as her dance moves.

Here's a video of Arcade Fire performing Sprawl II (Mountains beyond Mountains) at Bonnaroo 2011

Reel on Repeat: Love Story

Sorry I've been away for so long. Its partly because I've had no camera, and partly because I've been too lazy to type anything. End of summer writers block, I guess. But here I am again with another of my favorite movies.

Love Story is so amazing and so iconic for so many reasons. One of which is the chemistry between Ali Macgraw and Ryan O'Neal. They are so convincing as a bickering, yet loving couple and are kind of the precursor to Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake in the recent Friends With Benefits when it comes to witty banter.

While I love the synopsis of this movie (i.e. poor girl falls in love with rich guy only to find out that they can't spend their entire lives together), what I really love is the fashion and the iconic shots in the movie. I mean who doesn't love the ravenesque mane that Ali MacGraw has? Or the preppy chic 70's sweaters that Ryan O'Neal pulls off perfectly? And my favorite scene, the one where Ali and Ryan play in the snow like children, is too cute.
Love.
The trench, the sweater, the blazer, the scarf. What else is perfect?
I want Ali MacGraw's hair. Its my inspiration.

All in all, if you're in the mood for a tearjerker filled with funny moments and fierce fashion, then you should definitely watch Love Story.

Sacred Blood Splatter Specialist

Thanks again to Comic-Con for giving us a much needed sneak peek into the new season of Dexter. I don't know one person who doesn't enjoy this show, and the new trailer is full of excitment and WTF's. WTF. Mos Def? WTF. Selena's Dad? WTF. Tom Hanks' Son? I don't know what this season has in store for us, but its safe to say that it'll be a little messy. Get ready for tons of plastic, sexy army green henley's and Michael C. Hall's inner thoughts all over again. Enjoy the trailer for yourself below.
